Food Safety Resources Reviews General Information
Overall Comments On Resource Reviewed: Positive Points of the Reviewed Resource: Overall the video is accurate and appropriate. The "domino effect" illustrations are a unique presentation of consequences. The video is presented as being for ALL health care workers, and it is probably appropriate for nurse aides, orderlies, and other non-professional positions. It may be demeaning to higher professional staff, including nurses and physicians. Unfortunately, these professionals are equally in need of instruction and changes of habit. Overall, the minimal negatives are outweighed by the general positives. The presentation of a disgraced physician is very effective to show the serious consequences involved. The video is presented as being for ALL health care workers, but it seems more appropriate for non-professional positions and not geared toward professional staff, such as nurses and physicians. Also, the video is 17 years old and advocates using alcohol-based hand wipes and gels as an equivalent replacement for traditional handwashing. Overall, the minimal negatives outweigh the general positives, and the video is accurate and appropriate. Rating:Recommended
