Food Safety Resources Reviews General Information
Overall Comments On Resource Reviewed: Positive Points of the Reviewed Resource: The material provides excellent graphics, good flow of information, and useful references. The list of references had relevant excerpts included with the CD-ROM. It provides information on outbreak detection, hypothesis, study design, data analysis, tracebacks, environmental investigations, control, and prevention of foodborne illness. There is also a good use of questions for the student. This CD-ROM version is much more interesting than the notebook version. If the user does not explore through the supplemental information contained on the CD-ROM, they will miss out on some excellent references. Some people may be dissuaded by the Argentina link in the title, but it is the process and information on the CD-ROM that is important. This is an outstanding CDC product on a foodborne disease outbreak investigation. It is a great training tool for independent study. It is the super supplement to the hardcopy instructor guide on the same topic. This is a valuable educational tool in the field of epidemiology. While this CD-ROM would be difficult to utilize in a classroom setting, it is excellent for independent study. Rating:Highly Recommended
