Overall Comments On Resource Reviewed:

Positive Points of the Reviewed Resource:

The material could be developed in a more recognizable way. The icons are very useful. They may reach the stage of traffic signs and easily understood by everyone worldwide.

Negative Points of the Reviewed Resource:

An instructor or translator needs to explain the icons to food handlers or to any one who is going to see them. Please keep in mind the effort exerted world wide by governments, associations, NGOS, and media to educate the public about traffic roads signs. Maybe there is a need for the WHO to support to enforce the icons internationally. It is not an easy task, but it is important to spread the perception worldwide.

General Comments:

Comparing the international icons with traffic signs; a lot of effort needs to be exerted in development and spreading it internationally to be recognized by all food handlers worldwide. A scientific survey is needed using a quantified questionnaire to reach all international food safety icons.

Summary:

International Food Safety Icons CD-ROM provides an easily recognized symbol that conveys a specific food safety message. There are 11 icons provided in the CD-ROM. The icons are very useful. They may reach the stage of traffic signs and easily understood by everyone worldwide.
